Biography

Michaela Káčerková studied organ playing at the Prague Conservatory (Jan Hora), and subsequently at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (Jaroslav Tůma). She then furthered her schooling in master classes at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy in Leipzig (organ with Stefan Engels, and harpsichord with Tobias Schade). During her studies she participated in a number of master courses led by outstanding teachers (Harald Vogel, Martin Sander, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Olivier Latry, Ludger Lohmann) and won awards in national and international performers' competitions.

She currently combines her career as a solo concert artist with work with numerous other soloists, orchestras and Baroque music ensembles (Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the National Theatre in Prague, Capella Regia Praha, Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, and others). Her repertoire covers music of all style periods from Renaissance to contemporary pieces. She regularly appears in concert productions in the Czech Republic and other European countries, as well as in the USA and Japan. Since 2014 she has held the position of the director of the J. C. F. Fischer International Music Festival. She is now preparing the release of a series of CDs "Historical Organ in Carlsbad".
